Ok, thanks to the magic of Netflix Friends I can see that you do have the 1978 film. But for some reason it is labelled as 2000. I'm sorry to have unintentionally mislead you. I would rate the first Drunken Master as a 3 at best but at some point I must have seen the listing with the date of 2000 and assumed it was the American release of Drunken Master 2.

This is the one you want to watch.

Grand blond avec une chaussure noire, Le (The tall blonde man with one red shoe). The origional rather than the Tom Hanks remake (although I did like that also)

Roi de coeur, Le (king of heats) - A world war I private comes into a french town where all the locals have fled and left the inmates from the local asylum who are now "living" there.
