I have trouble understanding why this promotion would offend. It's lame, but offensive? I don't go to DL because I might get something. I go knowing it's going to freakin' cost me up the wazoo. It's all about promotions, so of course it's going to be the pretty picture perfect suburban family with chlildren smiling from ear to ear. I don't really care who wins what. I'm not counting on getting anything, although my family falls into that picture perfect suburban thing.

In fact, we may be coming over Christmas (nothing decided yet). Not because of a promotion. Because it's fun.

Only 90 minutes? Lame.

I think it's cool! I just thought it ironic (and a bit funny) that they got the park to themselves, but were accompanied by a thousand CMs and press.

But I would love to have the park to myself and family for 90 minutes (with no lines you could go on most of the rides in that time). And to be able to walk down an empty Main Street like that is so cool!

I can't see any real problem..

Of course I'm speaking as the head of a White nucelar family with two cute kids and a loving wife.....

Do you think I should add that to the entries I'm mailing in for the wishes contest?

I don't go to win prizes either, but if there's a contest ... I want as much chance to win as the other 40,000 people there on any given day.

A rigged contest doesn't offend you? Well, you and I have differing values
then.

(but that's never been in doubt, now has it? :p )

I'm still waiting to see the downside of this contest raise it's ugly head.

With attendance at just Disneyland and WDW-MK running around 30 Million guests/year that means you have no better than a 1-in-30 chance to win anything at all.

Which means that for every guest giddy at winning a free set of ears or a lanyard (woo hoo!) you will have at an absolute minimum 30 times that many guests who feel they (or worse their kids) got slighted by getting zippo.

At least with the 50th EVERYONE felt special and EVERYONE got the bling on the castle and EVERYONE saw the fireworks (or at least 1/2 a fireworks). Not just 1 in 30.

I wonder if Ken and I will be awarded anything when we go to WDW for a couple days before our honeymoon cruise? We'll be wearing our bride/groom ears.......

But, I already know I'm too fat for a promo camera, so we'll probably just win "romantic" table service at an ODV location of our choice. ;)

(Yeah, still cynical.)
