For pie Pilgrim Cafe in Belmont. I'll bet they can do a cuppa mud in a dirty cup, but their pie is divine.

If we're talking good pie, we used to do Bepple's Pies. Really good pie with excruciatingly bad service. Now they're gone.

But I'm not talkin' good pie. I'm talking the stuff that sits on the counter under a plastic lid on a cake tray next to the coconut cake.

My parents always favored nesselrode pie, which is, as one web site put it, basically instinct. As a child, this pie scared me. Must have been the rum.

They're gone?!?!

I did not know! I did see La Nouvelle Patisiere is gone (or moved off Union Street) and I loved them, not cheap, but real honest to merde French pastry

Mmm... Pie just sounds good now. I might have to try and get my hands on some tonight.

If I get home tonight, it's homemade brownies :D (next best thing to pie)

I just picked up a pound of Peet's limited edition "Ethiopian Super Natural" today. I fear that they are going to stop selling it soon and it is, by far, one of the most amazing coffees I've ever tasted. Get some before they run out. You won't be disappointed.

Went to a Diedrich's yesterday and it was god awful. This has been the case on my last three visits to two different stores. Stick a fork in them, they are officially done.
