By the way, in addition to RiffTrax, there's also Cinematic Titanic, which are actual DVDs with the movies and the funny all in one again! Hooray! (CP posted this a few weeks back, but it's worth repeating.

Interesting, I somehow missed CP's Cinematic Titanic link. We'll have to check it out. In the meanwhile, RiffTrax really works well for us, since we have somewhere close to 600 DVDs now, which includes pretty much all the choices RiffTrax gives.

The only downside was taking a break in the middle, which won't be happening again any time soon. While it wasn't incredibly difficult to re-sync, it wasn't exactly a piece of cake. Thankfully they have little markers in the RiffTrax mp3 that help the resynchronizing process. But yeah, most of these movies are those that we've seen before. Unless it's something major, we're not pausing it again.

Great idea.

I've downloaded and enjoyed a number of these Rifftrax. I particularly enjoyed all three Star Wars prequel trax, as they give that trilogy of ignominy exactly what it deserves. I also gave a spin to their riffs on the Star Wars Holiday Special, which is not officially available, but which their description none-too-subtly guides you to download from Google Video. even with the Riffing, the special was hard to get through. What a desperately awful slice of Seventies agony that is.

Not sure which of the 5 MST3K threads to put this in.

It seems that the former crew has been throwing everything at the wall to see what sticks. Just got a recommendation from Netflix for yet another post-MST3K incarnation.

The Film Crew, comprised of Mike, Bill Corbett, and Kevin Murphy, apparently has been doing bits for TV and DVDs, and they also released 4 DVDs of them doing commentary on 4 bad movies.

Yep, I've seen all four The Film Crew DVDs. They recapture a little of the MST vibe by providing a story framework and host segments for Mike, Bill and Kevin. The setting isn't nearly as much fun as the Sattelite of Love, and there are no puppets, but the discs are all right, certainly fun for fans. So far, the Rifftrax have proved more entertaining, to me at least.
