I think judged from her past connections with Pride events, earlier comments about gays, etc., that it does seem that she is slipping. Even in that interview she seemed to jump from topic to topic. I hope when I get old I just get more and more offensive to the religious right.

OMG! I"Ve never seen the appeal of Carol Channing beyond a great belly laugh. I"m glad she's made millions making someone happy, but I just don't get it. But 7 guys? Doing her? OMG! I'd just as soon learn about Walt and Lily's orgies. Geeez!

According to her publicist the reporter misquoted Ms.Channing.

For example: the report claimed that Carol said " I’m knee-deep in the Bible and you know what it says about that."

What Carol actually said was " You know what the Bible says about it ... Nothing."

And unless I missed something, misquoted or not, all she expressed was a disinterest in gay issues, not any particular disdain.

"Not my problem" is hardly the biggest slur a faggot might encounter.

Unless you get the paramedics involved...

And she's hardly the first person to make a joke about black people having more rhythm and better dance skills than white people.

You know, Carol Channing is also a comedienne... could some of these remarks have been attempts at jokes that just don't fly well in print?
