its funny, because the technology isnt anything new, its actually mapping software that google acquired licensing for, rewrote some of the software with XML hacks and javascript hacks to make it render faster.

The BIG surprise with all of this, the zooming, and quickeness, can only be attributed to Google's servers and backbone being able to host the images so quickly and efficiently.

Yes, it's all in the interface and speed.

i saw it today also, and I am way impressed. it actually put a pointer on my house :)
