OMG Did not know that!

Happy thoughts to these boys and their families.

I googled Cary Stayner and this is what I found. The little bit I read about Steven Stayners' abduction is heartwrenching.

The Staynor story must have been the origin for the Law & Order episode as it had a similar setup (though a different conclusion).

Oops! Thanks, Alex, for the correct spelling. :snap:

On one hand, it is really joyous that the families of these missing boys will get their children back.

But, at the same time...it's five years away from your child...five years of birthdays, Christmases and milestones...that they can never get back.

As much as it's a happy ending...it's bittersweet.

As well as whatever they've been through, they will carry with them. I read the person who lived above the apartment heard fighting and lound noises at night. He {the one there longer} didn't go to school, so he must not have had interaction with other kids on a regular basis?

I had worried about taking in foster children who had suffered so much because of the fact of their behaviour would not be so easily able to handle. To decipher.

Bittersweet, yes. And, everytime you look at them how can you not help but remember what they sufferered? And, how can you ever mend this? As a parent, you can't stand to know if you child is sad, or hungry, or isn't feeling well.

Which is also odd because their parents (the mother and daughter's) where the owners of a ranch my Grandparents were caretakers on and I used to spend summers on. They took me to the Carson house ( a private club in a historical victorian mansion in Eureka) as a child - soemthing I'll never forget. How odd it was to see them again in the news when their daughter and granddaughter were murdered!

It's fascinating - if only a morbid way - to see that one event leads to a string of others and that we are all connected in ways we would never imagine.

What a coincidence, although a sad one, eh? Nice to see someone in the news later in life and see something good has happened to them.

They seemed like such a nice family from what I saw on the news. It really was horrible how he chose them and killed them. All of them.

It is mind blowing how people 'hunt' people to use for their sick games. They have something in their mind and then find people to fill in the roles.
