Heheh, a CM gave me (and Laurie) a readmit pass last weekend simply because I had said "please" to her when requesting the back row of Big Thunder. She said I was the only person with any manners that whole day, and that she had endured a day of complete guest nastiness.

(We were very happy, because otherwise our entire plan for the night of riding Rocket Mountain would have come to naught).

But guest nastiness aside .... it's non-caffeinated BullSh!t that Disney keeps the Park open under such guest-unfriendly conditions. They should have the cajones to suck up the losses and close the Park for those few days. It's not habitable.

We did the last one (well I did the first one too). It was just a complete nightmare toward the end. Madz got squarshed up on the railing from all the people behind pushing. Lots and lots of very un-disney like behaviour from guests. Bleh.

She so wants to go again, I so don't. So no one tell her when it is and maybe we can pretend like it never happened. Shhhhhhhh

We did find an awesome photo of her getting Johnny's autograph from Getty Images. She's been the envey of all her friends, and Orlando touched her finger.

I'd go just so I could be told where to go by MickeyLumbo (learning to point correctly), but having just tried to watch POTC II, I have no desire to see the third installment of the movie franchise.

But, I'd walk a mile to see MickeyLumbo.

I don't think the issue is one of greed on Disney's part as it is expectations on guest's part. I believe the guest fallout for closing the park for a day would be much greater than the conditions under which they leave it open.

I disagree. I think the ride getting messed up was more to do with the success of the first film. Had the first film bombed Disney would not have considered putting movie tie-ins into the attraction. Remember 'The Haunted Mansion' ? Jennifer Tilly said in an interview just before the film's release that Disney was planning to use her image in the Crystal Ball & replace Leota. Thank goodness that film bombed!

What ticks me off about the changes to Pirates is the lack of them. If Disney wanted to retheme the ride to the movie & do it properly they shouldn't have kept so many original scenes and Marc Davis pirate characters. The art style of the ride does not match up with the art style of the films. I'd prefer they just change the whole thing rather than half ass it.

To further piss people off, in order to add the additional changes before the premiere of the 3rd film, Pirates Of The Caribbean will be closed for refurbishment on the day of it's 40th anniversary. How ****ing lame is that ?

I hope the pirate craze dies immediately after the 3rd film & the attraction is restored to it's original condition in the years to come.

Don't hold your breath. I doubt there will and end to this madness - and a restoration of the attraction - anytime soon. Pirates, as we knew it, it gone for good.

We'll always have the 10th anniversary show.
