Ahh, we did a Disney Oscar Shorts screening not too long ago, during which we saw "Der Fuehrer's Face." Good schtuff.

I don't listen to any music so that's ok. I'll just go on being unfamiliar with Spike Jones (odds are that if I heard things I'd recognize them, I just don't have a name attached to them).

Also, is there a reason, beyond a stylistic choice, that you shout everything?

BDBopper 04-10-2007 07:24 PM

just a style choice and I can read it better afterwards. If you prefer I'll just keep it regular. I didn't think I was shouting.

I THOUGHT THIS WAS SHOUTING

Ah HA! Thos of us with correctable vision wouldn't even think that it might be able to see if the text is bold. Thank you for "opening our eyes".

innerSpaceman 04-10-2007 08:32 PM

ALL CAPS IS SHOUTING. Bold is dramatizing. And Spike Jones is hot stuff. (I'm not familiar with a lot of it, but I like a lot the stuff I know.)

oh, and small text is an aside.

BDBopper 04-10-2007 08:44 PM

Thank you for the explanation. I will refrain from bolding my text here. The last thing I want to do is send people the wrong signal. Sorry about that.

Alex 04-10-2007 09:01 PM

Don't change just because of me. I was just curious. Personally I find bold text in large quantities harder to read (but then I also prefer white fonts on black backgrounds).

innerSpaceman 04-10-2007 09:17 PM

No, no BDBopper ... no need to mask your style. Bold is in no way frowned upon.

Avoiding constant posting in ALL CAPS is, as far as I know, the only netiquette widely practiced on message boards. Here on the LoT, we value free expression ... so if someone wants to shout once in a while, they are free to express themselves loudly.

We are also free to express ourselves Boldly if we're feeling bold.

Well, I think it is very helpful to BD if he posts in bold since, as he posted in his intro thread, he's legally blind. So, whatever works is fine. We old people can relate in a way....right?

blueerica 04-10-2007 09:56 PM

Ahh, I didn't even realize he was legally blind after he posted about it being easier to see afterward. ;)

At any rate, didn't bother me a bit. Bold Away!
