American health care really does suck. No champagne? Heathens!!!

(Glad your mom is better, Chris- nice way for the day to turn out, and I'll bet you she was very happy to have her family with her).

She often complains about occasions such as Mother's day and actively campaigns against their observance. Today her only complaint was that when her sister went to the hospital (in Switzerland) she got Champagne with her breakfest. I see a Champagne brunch in my mother's future...

Good news to hear! I'm so glad to hear your Mom is on the mend and complaining, as only a Mother can do! That is a sure sign of returning health!

The first three are our cats: the last twelve are dragons. And we both frequently forget names of the dragons. I even had to ask her the names of two of them because I was drawing a complete blank!

I momentarily considered calling my mom yesterady. But in the end decided that if I started to do so at this late age she'd just assume I am dying and trying to make good before I go.

So instead I went to a baseball game.

Happy Belated, Hot Mamas of the LoT! :snap:

My Mom, Stepdad and my Brother, Rob, just returned from a vacation in Hawaii, and we (my whole maternal side of the family) celebrated with a very swank Luau! My Mom had total tropical decor and we all received a lei upon arrival (leading me and my brothers to fire off "getting lei'd" jokes a'plenty, because they never get old and because we never grow up.) My Mom & her sisters (my aunts) prepared a buffet of pulled pork- hawaiian style, sweet & sour meatballs, macaroni salad & lots of other goodies. My favorite part was the tray of pineapple boats that my Mom artfully carved. We then watched her vacation videos while beautiful Hawaiian music played in the background. Ooh! we also got goodie bags filled with souveneirs!

Have I mentioned how much I love my Mom? I admire & look up to her so much! She plans the best parties & she's so thoughtful, loving and sweet. I'm getting all emotional!

I spent Saturday celebrating with my Stepmom (who I refer to as my "sister"- we're very close in age), my Dad, my paternal Grandma & my Brother, Trevor. We had the most amazing BBQ at my Dad's beach house!

Have I mentioned that I just love my family to death? My Stepmom is one of my bestest friends! Plus, I come from a line of amazing party planners! :D

I bought my Mom & my Stepmom a pair of super-cute Kitson shoes for their special day! I have the same pair, so now we can all match! :)

Hey Hades, if you happen to post or read this, my Mom went to Kaui- your home away from home! I also love & miss you!

Late to the party-but here all the same....

Rose made me breakfast in bed- she scrambled eggs. By herself! They were delicious- not at all burned or hard but soft and perfect. She delivered them to my room along with a bottle of Mike's Hard Lemonade!

My mom took Nickolas shopping. They went to Fashion Bug, the same day I did, but they went earlier than me. It was funny as I was trying on my things for them. Nickolas picked out 2 tops for me. They are exactly like what I picked out for myself, but different colors. The only problem is that they aren't my size. Nick tried to tell mom what my size was, but she didn't listen. No biggy, I just get to take them back and exchange for my size.

He also made me a jewelry box, complete with a hinged lid. This he did totally on his own. He did a great job and it is quite creative.

I love that my mom came through for him, but then she has been doing this sort of thing with him for over a year now.
