Oh. Wow.

As much as I despise the whole concept of pageants, I do happen to know the new Miss Teen America (different pageant). We are good friends with their family, and my wife was her 6th grade teacher several years ago now.

Brittany Brannon. Super smart. Beautiful. Talented. On academic scholarship to Pepperdine. Here's a link -

Yay! An exception. And an exceptional young lady.

They great thing about said pagents, is that it gives the winner a way to fund college, start a business, or get a leg up in a career. It can be helpfull.

You just have to hope Donald isn't rutting for your competition, or that it is in any way fixed. And doubts abound on that subject, now don't they.

I had to listen to it twice and I still don't understand what she was saying. Me thinks she doesn't either.

Well, there is a transcript below, though not completely accurate.

Typo, I'm not that clever. I meant rooting. ;)

I think rutting a teen may be illegal.......

I saw that video elsewhere yesterday and immediately thought "wow... just wow..."

I used to have to keep a journal in one of my creative writing courses. We had to write in it everyday. One of the things the professor told me was when you didn't know what to write, just write whatever came to mind. Even if it's gibberish. Maybe that's what she was doing verbally. :D

I was watching the Today show earlier (wow, free-time is amazing!) and they had her on it. The competition was on Friday, I guess... and she said she just froze up. Seeing her on the show this morning - she didn't sound like the stupid girl I saw on the video. She gave the response she wished she'd given, which was still a little on the juvenile side for my tastes, though it was safe and much more intelligently put.

Oh, and she came in 4th for the competition.
