2000 seems in line with merchandising events priced around $100 a head (with hotel add on options for hundreds more). Depending on the event I might be inclined to participate - though I'd rather they do an all night event at about $50.00 for 10K people (2000 is too small to have all but an attraction or two open)
The really pricey mansion event, I think was limited to less than 50. As for the number 2000, maybe they'll find a way to add 500 so we get 2500 (or 50 X 50). Marketting clearly needs more numerologists on staff. |
Ok, perhaps this is what we're all talking about?
We just got the AP "calendar" mailer for March-May. It mentions a contest where 2,500 APers will get to go to the "50th Anniversary Premiere Event" on May 4th (yes, May 4th, not 5th). It does not mention particulars on this event at all, just that you go to http://disneyland.com/ap and register with the site to enter (if you're already registered, you're already entered). I wonder what the hell they're cooking up. The 4th is the day the park is closed, supposedly to dress up the park for the 5th (but also to wine and dine the media). I think I'd take the day off if I won this drawing, just because it's a rare treat. Good luck to everyone! |

Very interesting. And it makes sense, given the nature of the giveaway.
Disneygallery still hasn't updated it's status on July 15-17, so I'm still betting on a hard ticket event, but at least it probably won't be as limited. Phew. |
