It is based upon income, and it is automatic.

If you are single and made under $75,000 last year you'll get $600 back.

Its automatic IF you filed taxes for 2007.

I owed, so I didn't give any direct deposit info. Thus we'll be getting a mailed check. It'll go into our bank account and we'll continue our normal spending habits.

If you want to figure out how much you will get, the IRS has a calculator here.

I spent mine already on my trip to Orlando. Will go back into short term savings. And I also owed, so I'm not looking at getting in until it gets mailed.

I don't get mine until July. Not fair!

No, $300.

Married couples get $600, plus $300 for each kid. We got ours Monday.

No, BTD is right. Maximum is $600 for single, $1200 for married filing jointly. Plus $300 for each dependent.

If your adjusted gross is over $75K ($150K for joint), you get $600 ($1200)-5% of the amount over that limit. So if your adjusted gross is $80K, 5% of $5K is $250, so the rebate would be $350.
