I do drive to my train station which is about five miles away. Better to drive 10 miles a day than 70, I figure. Otherwise, I'd have crap for options.

But 2.5 hours on the bus for such a short distance seems sucky.

People around here seem to have the impression that public transportation is awesome in cities like Los Angeles/OC, and that these other areas are so 'progressive' when it comes to energy conservation. I hate to point out to them that, while there are a few outspoken individuals that really promote being 'green', LA/OC is really sucky when it comes to giving people options.

I realized I couldn't move to Silverlake without owning a car because it would be nearly impossible to get to and from Silverlake using public transportation. Bummer.
