The internets are deceiving you. The fastest guys in the baja 1000 can barely make it to Cabo/La Paz in that short a time. Do you have a Pro Truck or a motorcycle? :)

Rocky Point is certainly closer. If you felt adventurous and wanted to take the Ferry over, I really like Santa Rosalia. I have never been to Rocky Point, if it's only a 4 hour drive, give it a try. You haven't invested that much time, and you can always drive back. You may also discover what you are looking for nearby.

It would appear that the 20 hour estimate for Cabo is correct. See this site for drive info. Cabo is on the very Southern tip of Baja.

Kevy, does it really show 20 hours? I sure wouldn't want to drive down there in the dark. Lots of cows on the road.

From the last paragraph:

A great spot to stop midway between Cabo San Lucas and Tijuana is San Ignacio. San Ignacio is about a 10 hour drive from Cabo San Lucas and a 10 hour drive from Tijuana. A terrific place to stay is the Ignacio Springs B&B.
While it doesn't explicitly say 20 hours, I think one can easily add the 10 hours from Tijuana to San Ignacio to the 10 hours from San Ignacio to Cabo to come up with 20 hours.

Also, the site talks about the kinds of roads (poor) and gas availability (poor) and other such factors. The read for me was that I personally wouldn't want to make the drive.

I stand corrected. Interesting info. Thanks!
