Thank you everyone! What a day!
I just got back from my "Gig" So I set up my equipment and wait for the start of the Party. Though I noticed something strange. My dad helps me set up and usually leaves. For whatever reason he did not and stuck around. So 2 PM rolls around the students are let out of their classrooms and head over in my direction. that was my cue to crank it up and let it go. Again I noticed something else. The "Birthday Boy" wasn't singled out in a special way like at other parties I have played. After a few songs the Principle asked for the mic and went into how it was Andrew's 16th Birthday and asked the students to wish him well accordingly. "But we have a small problem" she said (and that's when I knew I'd been set up). "These packages down below the table don't have Andrew's name written on them." And then the cake was brought out with the inscription "Happy Birthday Brian!" Oh, they got me good! Okay so I had a feeling that they would do something to separate the Birthdays but I did not expect the party to be a surprise party and completely for me! :D |
