His co-defendant, though, has a good shot on appeal --- why should he have been tried with OJ when telling jurors to forget all about that pesky murder business likely had as much effect with them as it would right here on the LoT or anywhere else in the world?

It's about time. It's shameful the way, just because he's black, they let him get away with beating up that poor white truck driver.

Do I live under a rock or something? What's going on with OJ?

He beat up Rodney King. |
Can't we all just get along?

ISM - if I recall, you believe OJ was indeed innocent in the murder of his ex and Goldman....is that correct?

The whole OJ trial (the first one) was such a circus. It just seemed so very overblown, the constant courtroom footage, the carnival atmosphere around the courthouse, Ron Goldman's dad's daily commentary with the press, freakin' dancing Judge Itos on Leno...
I remember getting into the spectacle of it until I saw the pictures the Star published of the victims. That put it all into perspective for me. Sad sad sad. |
I have no real opinion on the guilty verdict, don't know enough. But I'll decide how I feel once I see the sentence (I've not been paying much attention so if that was done already I missed it).
All I know is that they are saying on the news that he could get life. If the sentence is anything more than a few years then it seems to me that it simply isn't fair (unless someone has data showing that similar crimes by non-OJs generally result in long sentences). Despite him getting away with murder (and I do believe he committed those murders) there is no make-up call. Incorrect acquittals is a risk of the system and I like the system well enough to accept that. |
