Wow, Palm Springs is TOAST. I imagine their drills today must involve rubble clearing and emergency morgue procedures.

You guys... -sigh-

I got freaked out. Not funny. Not. Funny. I do think we would have felt it or people would be crying/freaking out/calling what happened... we have a number of So Cal'ers in this building.

I do think that this scale of disaster preparedness is absolutely necessary, esp. for So Cal, and I applaud the effort.

I would have found it amusing had we had an actual quake.

And yes, texting works better than trying to make an actual call after disaster. Not perfect, but better.

I appologize to the non-Southern Californians.

I think I felt it too...

yeah, the guy on the news this morning was saying "if we actually have one during this drill, we'll either look like total geniuses or complete idiots"

Visible DP mojo.

I confess, I knew about the simulation, but when I read the thread title, I thought "Oh man! NPR has failed me!"

OH! So that's why my closet collapsed.

Morrigoon 11-13-2008 01:14 PM

ALex and I were watching tv when the Emergency Alert thingy happened. They were saying to please drill if you were watching it, by taking cover, etc. We looked around our living room and were like, well, we're fvcked. Hehe. Of course, we're also a single door away from the outside here, and that's our nearest doorway, so I guess we'd have run outside.

I hope not to be in my closet when the big one hits.
