Kinda in-between on it. Was a decent first episode, though I'm not sure if it's going to be awesome or suck-tastic as the season wears on.

Didn't watch it. For some reason, though, the preview game me the impression that it was the biblical books of Kings set in modern day America. Not so?

It's the Biblical story of David (from 1 Samuel, not Kings, I think) retold in a modern semi-America where kings still exist.
Though now that I think about it this doesn't bode well for the long-term participation of Ian McShane (he's the Saul counterpart) if they cover much ground. |

Entertaining as Ian McShane is as a hardass, it sounds like gross miscasting, given Saul's ambivalence about the whole project.
