Actually, I think this is a good pairing of event and film and I think this would be a good one for the cemetery, but yeah 4th of July - not that I have any plans for that either...

James Dean's first starring role, and the best of his meteoric career, this is the performance that would make him the most legendary actor in history. Vivacious, animated, dexterous; his teenage energy crackles across the screen, and his pouty, magnificent good looks are nothing short of overwhelming. Based on the Steinbeck book, Dean plays the bad boy son who competes with his brother for their father's favor.... and the affection of the beautiful Julie Harris.

We are considering going to that one.

Yeah, I don't think I've ever seen it all the way through, just bits and pieces here and there. Um, yeah, that shot of J.D. makes me lust for more than bits and pieces.

Tempted in more ways than one.

I love East of Eden - if I wern't in the middle of moving I'd totally be there.

innerSpaceman 06-24-2009 11:38 AM

oooh, pfft, just buy the bluray, install some headstones, and you're in biz right there at home.

katiesue 06-24-2009 11:55 AM

Very true

East of Eden shows JD at his very hottest. It's funny though how the movie basically is the very last part of the book (as in, the last 150 or so pages of a 500 page novel).
