The ride sounds terrific from the description, and may even overcome being mostly movie. Dunno, would have to see for myself - and that's not ever likely.
I'm glad the Hogsmeade shops are authentically tiny, though of course that will be a theme-park nightmare. I don't see how they could have worked otherwise, though. It seems from the photos at least that Hogwarts is a cake-top decoration, like WDW's Haunted Mansion - and not a remotely full-sized castle that you can convincingly enter. A minor quibble I guess. The area looks great. I wish I could go! |
Hogwarts is set atop a HUGE showbuilding box.
iSm, did you ever ride Horizons? Remember how immersive the Omnimax dome flying was in that? Imagine combining that with a ride system smoother than Spiderman or Indiana Jones. Then add physical effects that literally come closer to any modern ride vehicle you've ever been on. |
Horizons was my favorite ride on the Planet, and the film DNA chain my favorite single moment in all of attraction history - - but if that movie segment had been the entire ride, it would have been a dud, imo. Don't get me wrong, the Potter ride sounds awesome, but I don't suspend my disbelief strongly enough on movie-based rides. Not yet anyway.

iSm - maybe you should join Rose and I on our next visit to IoA?

Heheh, yeah, if you pay for it. I'm broke for the next year at least!
