![]() After a bit, we all jumped into kayaks that the tour brought along with us. We paddled around the sunken city. It was amazing. ![]() ![]() I love how this tree is still growing sticking out of the water. They also explained how mangrove trees survive in the salt water by siphoning out the salt water and all that... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This doggie greeted us at the shore at one point. He was cute. ![]() Nan Madol was pretty magical to me. Amazing to think how it was built and who built it and why. At this point in the kayak trip, the rain came out and we were pretty miserable. But it was neat paddling through the mangrove forests and seeing bats flying above us. It was something out of Temple of Doom. ;) Nan Madol was a definite highlight of the trip. If you get a chance, see it! ![]() The last of the pictures I have of Pohnpei are pics of a shipwreck we saw on the way back to the hotel. It was a Japanese fishing boat that hit a reef and was deemed not salvageable. So of course, the owners just left it there... ![]() ![]() Pau for now... :) |
Remind us--or me--what you're doing in these travels.
