Speaking of right-wing nutbags ....

So, serious questions to any Republicans reading this.

Background: To me, Sarah Palin is pretty much the definition of a rightwing nutbag. Yesterday, Republican Base Still Wild about Sarah Palin described Sarah Palin's importance to the Republican rank and file.

Quote:

Charles M. Webster, the state GOP chairman in Maine, said Republicans there are very enthusiastic about Palin largely because they can see themselves in her.
Questions: What is your reaction when a Republican Party official says that Republicans are like Sarah Palin? Do you feel at home in a party where Sarah Palin is (apparently) an important player or do you wish a more centrist, capable Republican politician would appear? If Sarah Palin remains viable, do you ever think of voting Independent?

And I always thought that Republicans are enthusiastic about Palin because she enjoys being a mean, petty person. Two things can be equally true, I guess.

I thought they were enthusiastic about her because she can pull off the sexy librarian look.

I can't speak to how widespread it is, but we saw a standup comic last night and he did a couple Sarah Palin jokes. I glanced over at the table of people who had earlier booed when the comic mentioned Obama. There was at least one lady sitting with a VERY thin-lipped scowl while he was pointing out that "rogue" and "quitter" aren't the same thing.

As a loyal Republican, I admire Sarah Palin because she successfully marries self-indulgence and license to judgmental condemnation and iron-fisted cruelty in a way that we haven't seen since Roy Cohn.

George W Bush wants to know if your precious Sarah Palin ever allowed her state to execute a retard, Strangler Lewis. George W Bush didn't think so.

As a loyal Republican, you have to support Sarah Palin because Rush told you to.

That is all you need to know.
