Even at that low res, I can see pixel edges. Photoshopped.

Alex 08-03-2009 03:41 PM

That was my thought. Otherwise that house has a five-foot wide door to the bathroom.

"The name's Lincoln"

Cadaverous Pallor 08-04-2009 09:05 AM

Makes me wish for a Lincoln movie starring Kurt Russell.

one of the comments reads: a sandwich is a sandwich but a manwich is a meal.

Cadaverous Pallor 08-04-2009 08:16 PM

That pic might actually be funny in an ok sort of way if they didn't have matching outfits and the person on top wasn't so asexual...

back when I started in the biz (right around 1980), we had a corporate party when we reached the 'awe inspiring' magical 1 gig storage.
it consisted of 8 removeable pack hard drives, each the size of a washing machine. this thing was dream tech in 1980.

now, its the size of a toenail

this was 1 gig storage 'way back when' and its current version next to it for comparison

ok, now I feel bloody old. :(

Morrigoon 08-10-2009 02:00 PM

That's pretty awesome.

My dad used to marvel at how he carried more computing power in his back pocket than they used to have in an entire room at Rocketdyne back in the day. And this was the early days of electronic organizers when he said that.

I remember how impressive 1 gig used to be. Now we scoff at USB drives with less than 8.

JWBear 08-10-2009 03:01 PM

Hell... I can remember when a MB was incredibly huge!

lashbear 08-10-2009 05:24 PM

Pshaw, we'll never need any more storage than what you can fit on a cassette tape, surely?

Prudence 08-10-2009 09:29 PM

Okay, so we still have those cassette drives in the basement at my folks' place, along with the computer that uses them.

lashbear 08-11-2009 12:51 AM

Actually, I should reply to the thread instead of just Mojoing:

I still have an old 78 RPM record player (HMV) in my garage.... It makes you feel old when museums are interested in your stuff.

It should be noted that that giant SD card is quite big for 1GB.

I need to post a picture of Susan's Cookie Monster cake when I get home.

JWBear 07-28-2010 06:09 PM

To me, the picture is all about the boy's expression.

JWBear 10-30-2010 09:31 AM

I giggled, because I'm 12.
