It certainly isnt, Alex. My bad, I guess, but I thought the Aulani was on the Big Island. Well, um, if it's on Oahu, it has to be doing something REALLY wrong if it's failing so miserably.

The pictures made it look like it was a beautiful property. Of course, the Disney prices make it unattractive ... but I would think Hawaii would be one of the few other places on Earth where Disney prices seem sorta normal.

The latest complaint from those who dance on Saturday nights near ESPN (Carnation Plaza in exile) is that restaurants are no longer validating parking without a receipt. Give us a live band and a dance floor (<whine>not big enough, no chairs<\whine>) but we certainly don't want to spend any money on food or parking. Sure, why not?

katiesue 09-14-2012 12:20 PM

But, and I know logic doesn't play into this, wouldn't they have had to pay for parking when it was in the park as well?

Moonliner 09-14-2012 12:26 PM

Wait, why were restaurants validating parking without a receipt in the first place?

God knows. Apparently it depends on the employee.

Many of the people who are going to DTD dancing have never been APs so they're taking advantage of the free.

A mom I know told the story of shlepping her family to WDW. The apex of which was, "We get there, and let me tell you, it's EXACTLY like Disneyland. EXACTLY THE SAME. The layout, the rides, everything. I mean, there was no reason to go there, at all! What a waste of time and money!!"

Muggles.

What's weird is they only went to Epcot.

BarTopDancer 10-22-2012 09:22 PM

Magic Kingdom is exactly like Disneyland until you start looking for rides that aren't in that park, or where they "belong". Haunted Mansion: I'm looking at you!

It's the same, but completely different!

Cadaverous Pallor 10-22-2012 10:20 PM

"...and I hear Disneyland in Paris is the same too!"

At which point I could not hold my tongue any longer, as I've actually been there.

cirquelover 10-23-2012 07:07 AM

I don't blame you, don't think I could have held my tongue either. Obviously they skipped the other 3 WDW parks because I guarantee Animal Kingdom is nothing like Disneyland. I guess they have Bugs Life but that is the only similarity.
