I have a left-over 1-day pass tentatively set aside for the fall MA, but might have to round up a new team. This is, of course, contingent on my employment status and domicile at the time.

Oh, and snow is in the forecast for the weekend here.

Why would you have to round up a new team?
And you know, there are a few San Diegans that would still love to meet you, should you be searching.

Eh, I thought we did better than that. Oh well.

And I have no qualms about awarding our team the same 70 points, since we didn't bother with the very last bit of the quest when they closed the island while we were rafting away from it. Going by MouseAdventure tradition which has burned my team twice in the past, we felt secure in our belief that full points for the quest would be awarded to every team ... and so we stopped wasting valuable time (we'd already spent more than half an hour on the Island).

Don't get me wrong, I'd rather MA award just half points for such closures or mishaps. But that's not what they've done in the past. And we've never been one of the teams to benefit from a quest we didn't attempt, but rather were always the team burned who got no point benefit for quests we spent significant time in getting right.

I'm still annoyed that you could just be handed the answer to that math one. I worked my butt off to get that right.

innerSpaceman 04-17-2008 03:58 PM

Well, at least they told you that in writing up front, as soon as you looked thru the game materials.

But there was no way to know they'd hand out full points for everyone who DIDN'T walk through the Sleeping Beauty Walk-Thru ... and full points for everyone who DIDN'T kill themselves at the Motor Boat Dock with that hellacious protractor map thing ... only to suddenly decide to award only HALF points for everyone who didn't make it to Tom Sawyer Island.

Bah. I hereby award the Denton Affair's mythical score an additional mythical 35 points.

What does that bring us up to? 17th???

Oh, how the mighty have fallen.

But it's nice not having to play for keeps, especially when Anaheim is the second hottest place in the world (or some such bar graph statistic).

Well, if NA and the monkey retire - and my spousal unit has already declined to participate in the future - that leaves me on my own.

The recap is up today, and includes a candid photo of iSm as well as the Happy Haunts. Also a good rundown of quests for those who are curious.

I think the Todi Mooers are vaguely considering. (Grrreat, just after everyone else is quitting.) But - we've never played before, and I'm DEFINITELY sure we don't speed very well. But we're smart...
