It is going to be interesting fitting all of our vehicles into parking at the cabin.

Our car doesn't take up much room. In fact, if anyone brings one of those humongous monster pick-ups, we can park in the bed of it. ;)

Kevy told me Id better rent a larger car for the trip. Now, you all know I drive a full-sized Volvo Wagon, don't you? If I need to rent a car larger than that, we're ALL doomed.

We're bringing the van, so we can probably assist with luggage or Minis.

If it gets real bad, we can rent a trailer: we have 7,000 pounds of towing capacity

Really... How much stuff does one really need? If anyone shows up with oddments of small furniture, they may expect a disbelieving glance and a disapproving tone directed at them.

Coming from someone with this as an avatar, I find that comment mildly amusing. ;)

You no like? It used to be in the White House:

Quote:

Made from two grizzly bears captured by Seth [Kinman]. The four legs and claws were those of a huge grizzly and the back and sides ornamented with immense claws. The seat was soft and exceedingly comfortable, but the great feature of the chair was that, by touching a cord, the head of the monster grizzly bear with jaws extended, would dart out in front from under the seat, snapping and gnashing its teeth as natural as life. This chair Seth presented to [President] Johnson, September 8, 1865.

Here's a picture with the head extended. (That's the trapper that killed the bears, BTW. Seth Kinman)

Where is it now?

(And please don't say the Smithsonian)

Who knows. As near as I can figure, it was sold off sometime in the late 1890s, early 1900s. It can be seen in a picture taken in the WH library (currently the Yellow Oval Room) in the early 1890s. After that, it disappears.
