Opening night of The Drowsy Chaperone went tremendously well. We had a blast, the audience was having a good time and I was happy with my performance. Now to keep the energy going for tomorrow's show...

Good on you !!! I'm so happy, and will pass the photos on to the MamaStoat for her approval. :D

Well, ducklings, that's another show come and gone. The Drowsy Chaperone closed tonight. The big surprise of the evening was that Lisa Lambert came to see it. She wrote the lyrics for the show. She's a terrific person and a wonderful writer. She signed my program.

An awful rehearsal process evolved into an extraordinary run. I adored the cast and crew. I'll try and post some pics if I can.

Thanks to everyone at the LoT for all of your support and kind words. You are the blues chasers that help me get through. Mahalo.

Way too short a run - but on to the next one! Congratulations, I really, really, wish I could have seen it!

I wish you could have too. I've been getting some great feedback about my character which is always nice to hear.

But now it's job hunting time. No plays for awhile, methinks. Although, I do have my sights set on Hair. (Auditions the week after I return from the SoCal trip.)

I haven't talked about it much lately but I'm auditioning for 'Hair' tonight.

A couple of things tho, I'm nervous about this audition which is usually a good thing for me. I can use that energy well. But for some reason, I have this pit of the stomach thing that says I don't think I'm going to get in. Don't know why...

I decided to go for the Margaret Mead ('My Conviction' song) character. It's a smaller part but a scene stealer. After the one scene she's in, she becomes a man again and turns into a Tribe member. I think that's good for me. Being one of the leads (Berger, Claude, Woof) means a lot of work. The show is already going to be a 7 week performance commitment, I'm supposed to be job hunting along with doing theatre stuff...

Do you have to audition nude so they can judge all your talents ?

No, I already greased that wheel. Male director and all.
;) :D

I'm ready for my audition but I also feel like blowing chow. Pukesville. Rainbow yawn.
:(

Well, it would show colour and movement...

Gemini Cricket 12-15-2009 02:19 AM

Well, the audition went well. I made 'em laugh. That's a good sign. We'll see what happens.
:)
