Good grief, who would name a holiday after that!?!

And somehow putting all that on tv is supposed to help her?

Internet weirdness...

My niece the photographer is always looking for interesting people to photograph. She posted on facebook about wanting to go to the beach this week and I suggested she go to Newport and check out the dory boats.

I have a family history there. My father was a dory fisherman and my mom sold fish when I was little - about 4 or 5. Without going into too much detail, my parents divorced and my dad was no longer a fisherman there... but my mom still had friends there. Frank and Leslie were a couple I remember visiting as a kid a few times. I know my Mom has kept in touch a few times in the last 35 years or so.

Anyway - after suggesting she go to Newport, I looked up dory fisherman newport online and went to google image search to see if there were any good artsy photos of the area and one of the first photos is of Frank and Leslie. Frank died about 1 month ago.

I just called my Mom to let her know.

Strange to stumble across something like that... The photo is of them renewing their vows late last year after he was diagnosed with 4th stage lung cancer.

LoT just names things. We don't research them first.

If/when Google gets it's face search feature online you can except to see a lot more of this kind of thing.

I couldn't decide if this should go in the Disneyland forum or the Hep Cats forum... So I'm posting it here.

Way cool, JW! :snap:

Cadaverous Pallor 04-07-2011 12:59 PM

Wow that is fabulous. You need to post it in it's own thread, JW, to make sure everyone sees it!

I switched over to Crome today. I had enough of Firefox telling me I was still logged on even though I wasn't.
I like Chrome.
:)

So far.
