I thought only Hugh could prevent florist friars?

Ken and I are SO ready for a camping trip. We even have this new shiny cooking device we're dying to try out. It's *the* Cadillac of camping stoves, complete with side shelving, utensil hooks, etc. :D

We can build a plain ol' campfire for roasting marshmallows. But, I totally intend on making bacon-wrapped asparagus skewers, roast corn, steaks, stir fry veggies, and then pancakes in the mornin'!!! Woohoo!!! :snap:

Hmm, I was just recalling the awesome whale watching trip with fondness. Perhaps some sort of boating outing, in Newport Beach, or something?

Or you could rent a duffy (electric) boat and cruise around the harbor.

So ... swank camping. Let's do it! Where and when?

I've never been to Sequoia/King's Canyon ... so that's my personal preference. Of course, some of our very own swankers have never been to Yosemite, a situation that must be remedied at some point.

zapppop and I are in the Grand Canyon the first week of June, so I request camping any other time but that.

I would suggest King's Canyon/Sequoia in pre-Memorial Day May. The crowds won't be so large and the waters in King's Canyon will be high and fast.

I'll third Kings Canyon - Sheep Creek campground to be exact, next to Sheep Creek. And, Alex is correct. Pre-Memorial Day is best.
