Most people think Aaron does count as the 6th. I still don't because we already knew about Aaron + 5 others when they were trying to make us believe that Jin was the 6th. If I'm right, then we still don't know who #6 is.

ETA: Actually, now that you mention it, the whole "8 initally survived the crash, but 2 later died" testimony further lends credence to my theory that Aaron doesn't count. That means Jack was talking about 6 people that survived the crash. Unlikely that that would include Aaron.

It depends.....maybe this show is really a plot by the pro life lobby to make people think that Aaron does count and therefore he was alive and counted as a person prior to birth.

Ok, maybe not.

How about the preview for the next episode? Was that the guy in the hidden cabin (why can't I remember his name at the moment?) saying he's been dead for 12 years?

That's what I meant. The "Oceanic Six" is what the flash-forward public calls the returning survivors of flight 815, including Aaron. If 8 survived the crash, two died, and Aaron wasn't born yet, there's someone else who's a member of the surviving "Jack Six," and didn't leave the island. But, since we know that Jack is lying, it doesn't matter who "died." Why didn't the flash-forward public pick up on the fact that Jack is one death short in his story? Aaron counts, because he's one of the six that left the island, there's just an extra fake person in Jack's fake story. I'm interested in the ramifications of Jack's bad math.

Maybe the public doesn't know Aaron was born on the island.

We don't even know if the public knows there is an island. References to the island have been made to the O6 by Widmore's people as well as each other. But I can't recall hearing anything from someone who is not one of those about the island.

Very true.

The passenger list would be public knowledge.

Lostpedia indicates all 6 have been identified and confirmed.

Take it or leave it, I guess.
