Is that a common phrase? I know some people on LoT that would make faces at me if I said that.

It's quite common in the vernacular down here. It is, however slightly tinged with un-pc-ness. I was actually a checkout chick myself and referred to myself as such, so the phrase doesn't bother me :D

Grrrr. I thought the revised salary offer was supposed to be presented today, and now they're saying by Thursday. I want to celebrate already!

no. the school district is sans funds. we've done layoffs, massive cuts, blah blah blah....no mas money for this OR next year.

the dept director even came by last week and told me 'uh....you know we have no money in the budget to pay you for that...right? youre gonna work on that right?' (also sans straight face)

basically, I told him 'yessir...I will do whatever it takes to get the 773H outta here for as long as it takes to get those numbers down.'

all things considered, Ive surely had worse problems.

So, today at work we found out that the guy who came back to work who didn't have TB as suspected, turns out to really have TB after all. Who knew that I'd end my day with a meeting with the health department doing a presentation on TB. I suppose this is a common risk when working on a large scale project with support from foreign nationals coming from places with higher disease rates. Still I don't think this was one of the identified risks in our project plan.

BarTopDancer 05-19-2008 06:59 PM

Are they sure it's not SARS or bird flu?
