Trust me, that was said more than once.
There's a petition out there too.

The tact they were/are taking was that VMK started as a part of the 50th anniversary celebration, and was never intended to be a long term project.
So, thats over, this is over.

It's not still the year of a million dreams in CA?

Ghoulish Delight 05-21-2008 04:15 PM

It is, but Year of a Million Dreams is not the 50th. That's the post-50th theme.

They should create a Disney version of Second Life.

If it has a retro Disneyland, with all the old rides, I'd be so there!

I hear it's very popular...

Apparently there was a protest over this at the Park (well, just barely off-property) on Mother's Day.

GusGus 05-21-2008 10:08 PM

Mother's Day?

That seems an odd choice.

The Boy was on it at the end. He was even crying about it. He tried to say that it wasn't fair, that I got to keep in touch with my friends, but he is losing a lot of his.

BarTopDancer 05-21-2008 10:47 PM

Oh that sucks MG! I guess information exchange was not allowed on there. Those poor kids. Maybe some sort of group will pop up and people will start posting there and he can meet up with some of them again.

Gn2Dlnd 05-21-2008 11:39 PM

Over on Mice Chat I thought they had a pretty active VMK forum, maybe people can continue their friendships there? At least until Disney concedes to pressure and puts VMK back up.

You've always had the option of removing the VMK forums from your viewable threads.
