Cool!! I'm glad it went well!!! **hugs**

I know, I wish I would have had more of a head's up. I had originally though that maybe if someone chanced just showing up, they might have a shot at getting in but I was warned that George Clinton packs them in, the understatement of the year. Sardines, I tell ya - funk-lovin' sardines.

And along with my apparently much-anticipated HD debut, there was talk last night of us doing more shows with Parliament in the future, as we seemed to fit right in with their crowd. If that comes to fruition, I will hopefully know much farther in advance next time and scream it from the mountaintops.

Now, I just need to find some funkier clothing for these future dates. You think you are wearing something hip and then you watch these guys come out of the dressing room and feel as if you are dressed like a Jehovah's Witness.

So, where does one go to find clothing that transcends all reasonable norms?

Was Bootsy there?

Was Michael Hampton playing lead? Did he do "Maggot Brain"? That's always been a transcendent moment for me at P-Funk shows...

Nope, no Bootsy unfortunately. Lige Curry, the bassist in my band as well, did the whole show with them. He has been their main guy for the last 4 or 5 years, I think.

He was playing. I was unable to stay for the entire show, unfortunately, so I don't know if they performed "Maggot Brain" or not. :(

That's a tough one. What if you took the opposite tack from that crowd? You know, so square it's hip? V-neck sweaters over an oxford shirt, sansabelt slacks - Donald Hollinger in "That Girl". Think about it, it could work.

When I was actively losing weight (I'm now at a point where I'm trying to maintain, not so much lose), I was taking in a max of 1500/day, often less.

lashbear 06-04-2008 04:01 PM

Ah, but were you 6'2" and 275.5 pounds at the time ?

...I'll ease down to 1500 eventually. :p
