We do those in my family too! Only I add ketchup to my sandwich, not mayo.

At least if they're sniffing and no fighting that is a good start.

There was some baby squeaking. Smurf had a total hissy fit and was in a big snit over the addition of young ones. I took her out by herself and gave her some extra attention and she seemed to calm down.

When I turned on the light all 3 babies were running around and it looks like Smurf had a rough night. She has some hair sticking straight up on her back, like someone has attacked her. Just like kids, they always seem to gravitate towards the one who doesn't want them around.

OMG!!!!

I just checked the mail and got a very nice surprise.

Last year I was sent notification of yet another class action suit against Pacific Bell/SBC for unfair labor practices (relating to disability and FLMA discrimination). I filled out the form and forgot about it. I just got a $300 check in the mail. Now $300 may not sound like much, but it is to me. Right now I can use anything I can get.

Oh, and since I am all excited about the new girls...Blinky is alreay responding to her name and is digging like a mini gopher at the bottom of the cage.

Oh... that reminds me that I have to fill out some other class-action thing. I love it when BS from a decade ago comes back to give me monies.

YAY!

In other news, I am tired. Way. Too. Tired. Went to arena football last night, last home game for our team, the Blaze (vs. the Los Angeles Avengers, bleh...). Had a good time, but the game was really late because it was on ESPN n stuff. After what could be described as one of the roughest starts I've ever seen (think Dolphins... though not quite as bad), they actually have an excellent chance of making it into the playoffs, no thanks to their coach, who I have a feeling might not be coming back if crowd reaction is any indicator.

Ahh.... there's nothing quite like the sound of a PERSISTENT, HONKING TRUCK to wake you up in the morning, is there? :P

Ponine 06-10-2008 10:07 AM

Except maybe a honking accompanied by the bleating car alarm.

Snowflake 06-10-2008 10:07 AM

I'm tired (yawn) and I did nothing so strenuous as swank camping.

Morrigoon 06-10-2008 10:41 AM

Okay, time for some pics.

Spoiler:

I arrived Friday night/Saturday morning at about 2:30am (give or take), so I slept in my car that first night. Didn't sleep long, of course, so I was up with the morning crowd.

Thurston finds himself in a bit of a pickle

Alex arrived shortly after I got up, camera in hand.

DP and FP lounge it up while the breakfast team gets cracking

Thurston is still in a pickle

Mommy? A little help please? (Actually, I include this because I have only a few pics that include Susan, and this is one of them)

My home away from home

Thurston gets lovies

Thurston gets delightfully dirty. Note the goatee of dirt

Morning on "our" river. Or is it evening? I slept through the middle of the day, so this could be either half.

The essence of Camp Swank

More to come...

Morrigoon 06-10-2008 11:00 AM

Spoiler:
Capt Jack "The Taquito Kid" takes another bite

Mmm... campfire (it was freakishly cold that night, even for camping), and a dutch oven full of Susan's hand-rolled taquitos

Without the flash, it was actually this dark

Okay, actually, this is about right

Squirrel!

Just one part of the "Estate du Swank"

One thing I tried on this trip was to focus a bit more on portraits (I usually photograph landscapes almost exclusively). So here's Kevy.

So, Zumwalt Meadows?

Pretty! (Can't help it, I love landscapes)
