No, not at all. It is for kids that have had behavioral issues in the past, that get easily frustrated when they have to think things out. It isn't a "you got in trouble so you have to see a counselor" but more of a "let's try to keep you out of trouble so you don't have to see the principal." I
n Nick's case, he has issues relating to other kids his age. He also hates having to slow down what he's doing to think. He has anger issues related to a strong sense of "fairness." Of course, it is my job to figure out if he was really wronged, or if it is just happening in his own mind.

She said that these kids are really smart, but easily distracted, which can also lead to behavior problems.

Oh good. I keep hearing that "no child left behind" has meant the end of "gifted" programs many places, because the effect of making gov't mandated standards is that places are no longer willing to exceed those standards. If things had progressed to the point where smart kids were treated as behavior problems just for being smart...I don' know.

So - I am sufficiently freaked out by the Phoenix Rising of the Inspiration Thread.

I mean - wow. It's almost cosmic. Or maybe it just is.

I need a new printer.

Mine's busted. And all I did was hook it up to the new computer. It's like the computer sensed its presence and said "Fool! You can't keep up with me! You're not even shiny! The only shininess you have is on the HP logo, and that's teeny!" and then the printer felt sad and died.

It tried to make itself feel better by spitting out paper, but I don't think it helped much.

take a listen as a man, late for a meeting, calls his boss on the cell phone. during the call he witnesses a traffic collision...

While funny, it doesn't sound real to me, and snopes says "undetermined".

To be precise, Snopes does have confirmation that it is an actual voice mail message left by someone for their boss...but that doesn't mean that the guy leaving the message wasn't full of sh!t.

I was just reminiscing about our cross-country trip from Monterey to Boston this morning. There are actually certain parts of the desert that I miss. Especially around New Mexico...
*Sigh*

I just got reamed (via email) from my boss. The other girl in my office called out sick today. I took care of her customers and her phone calls. Not a biggy. the one thing I didn't have access to was her email. I guess there was an email in her box from a customer asking about placing an order. It came in at 10am. Since I don't know her password (and the owner/boss is the one who set it up that way), why should I be the one in trouble? I will truly be glad when she leaves Wednesday for the huge stationery show in New York. She is borderline crazy now, but the stress of the show is making her downright nutso. I am really seeing why there has been a large turnover of employees.
