Not when they are everywhere. Last year they were so thick on the lawn you couldn't mow the front yard. We had 3-4 make it into the house and more in the garage. Chicken was playing with one in the back yard when she sort of flung it up in the air...have you ever seen a toad fly???

Can you deliver a few toads to my house? I miss having toads in my yard.

SL, how long are you in Switzerland and what brings you to such a lovely place? And, BTW, I have a nice mental picture of you trying to cover yourself up with a napkin.:)

I'm off too the vet to have a consultation with the surgeon about Thurston. I'll find out soon if surgery is going to be a necessary thing for his luxating patella.

The punchline is that "serviettes" also means "napkins." So for at least a few seconds, I was the idiot American who called the restaurant to ask if they provided napkins or if we'd have to bring our own.

Not as embarrassing as my sister's story. While in London at McDonald's (I will not defend her choice of restaurant beyond saying she was backpacking and looking for cheap food), she asked where the napkins were. She was, of course, pointed to the ladies' loo.

What is a luxating patella anyway?

Hope the boy is okay, I feel like I've missed a conversation (with all the swank trip planning going on around here)

Dear Snowflake,

I could be wrong, but many small dog breeds (like poodles, terriers and pugs) suffer from a hereditary condition that causes their little kneecaps to go AWOL. It's quite common, and breeders, try as they might, haven't knailed the kneecap knundrum.

But I'm sure Thurston will be OK, as he is more than well looked after.

Love and hugs,

The Stoat XXX.

Thanks for enlightening me, your stoatness.

Sounds like an interesting name for a band.

It's almost as intersting as "Knailing the Kneecap Knundrum" ;)
