How about one of the swanky campgrounds near Disneyland?

I love Kings Canyon - some of the caves might be open too before Memorial Day - let's do it

I am 90% on a pre-Memorial Day trip to Yosemite but if that doesn't line up I'd be interested in King's Canyon.

Alex, when is MA?

Alex 01-08-2007 11:09 PM

I don't know.

Whatever date was announced is the one they are trying for but until all the logistics are hashed out it could change.

Definitely not in May, though.

k, should we tentative for 1st weekend in May? We could do a long weekend for those who can swing it, but including weekend weekend for those who can't.

I'm still up for doing Yosemite the swank way someday - - the Californians who haven't yet been are living in sin - - but for now I'm really more excited to discover California places new to me.

(I recently visited Joshua Tree for the first time, and intend to go back as often as possible. It's beautiful beyond my expectations ... and, at a mere 2.5 hours from L.A., worth a swanking in its own right.)

Sequoia is wonderful. Lots to see.
General Sherman is huge.

There are 4 or 5 birthdays that first week in May.

So I've heard. ;)

Well, if peeps don't want to celebrate their birthdays in the great outdoors with a gathering of great friends, we could go camping earlier.

Considering the apocalyptic weather we're having in January, April is the new May anyway.

Cadaverous Pallor 01-09-2007 09:26 AM

Hmm. Birthday camping. Hmmmmm.

This year is a biggie for me and I really have no clue what I'm doing for it...hmmmmm. Unsure this is what I'd want to do. A week earlier might be good...though I might be celebrating my brother's bday then. Complications.
