Latkes: Shred potatoes. Shred onions (to taste, I like a little bit less onion than potato). Mix in a bowl with just enough flour to get everything to bind together. And egg can help. Form the mix into pancakes about 3 inches in diameter. Fry wide frying pan with olive oil about 3/4"-1" deep until they look delicious. Eat.

Ummmm, maybe a moderator should move all of the non movie posts to a Seder thread. And, MousePod, that would be you (WB is getting drunk at the GC and I have a feeling Erica is otherwise engaged). ;)

mmmm... I kinda like that this is a secret Seder thread-within-a-thread almost like an... easter egg.

innerSpaceman 04-02-2008 04:54 PM

me, too. Since if NA & €uro are in, I think we're full-up (leaving a space for Cherny).

It would seem poor form to announce a seder via a thread, but not allow anyone else to join in.

Heheh, the Cricket was supposed to invite people .... but I told him there was nothing like posting it surrepticiously on the LoT in a thread that had nothing to do with it.

Plus an easter egg is perfect for Passover. The two holidays are inextricably linked!!

Aww, I'll never get to attend a friend's seder. :( Family obligations to two seders trump all.

When is it next year? Steve said he was gonna have it on whatever Saturday happened during Passover.

That's usually when GD's family has theirs. My family has it on the actual first and second days.

innerSpaceman 04-02-2008 11:39 PM

Huh, his family has it on Saturday, no matter which the two first nights are??? WTF??

So you go to 3 of them?

No, my parents do have a Seder for the first two nights, and we go to whichever is more convenient for us. GD's family does have it on Saturday (sometimes Sunday if there's some reason to move it) in order to accomodate a large (non-religious) family. They also cut out most of the reading.

Well, we just hope to make the list for next year's Seder extravaganza. Our last experience is one that we still talk about and remember most fondly. :)
