I am sorry that I will not be able to join you in Yosemite but if anyone would like some great sourdough starter for them elves PM me and we will work something out.

Sorry, but Utah did not exist in 1790.

I'm picking up a jar to store my starter this weekend. There shall be bread in our house next week! Woohoo!

But people were there, I used that as a graphical location it was the information that was passed to me along with the starter and recipe on a card.

Here is some information from the Utah Government site.

or ya know, a geographical location.

I think 'graphical' is slang used by them elves at the north pole when they differentiate their ilk from their kin at the south pole.

The first Europeans to visit the area didn't arrive until the 1770s (the Spanish Dominguez-Escalante Expedition). The first European settlers were the Mormons in the 1840's.

Sourdough first came to the west in the early 1800's; brought by settler families. It first became associated with miners, prospectors, and the like during the California gold rush.

Utah in 1890, I can see.
