Well at least he was disqualified up front. If that is how hardship is handled he'd never have survived boot camp anyway.

I'm sorry. He must feel pretty defeated. It is a bummer being turned down by the military when it's your dream. I wanted to fly fighter jets. Had my plan laid out, but was disqualified from enlisting because of my knees (I wouldn't have been able to fly anyways since my vision wasn't 20/20 uncorrected).
Can you guide him to AmeriCorps or something like the CCC I linked above? Maybe even firefighting school or police work? He would probably thrive in any structured environment. |

Nothing. Defeated is when you try, really try- and hit the wall. D does not try- he wants it handed to him, he wants it easy. |
Then it's a good thing the USMC said no. Boot camp is not easy.
I'm sorry Nephy. I wish I had other suggestions. |

Into the future Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin' Into the future... This part of the SMB song is in my head. It's sometimes a scary, scary chant... :D |

Oh, and now I have this song in my head, thanks! |
So my offer letter from my new job includes my wages, my hours, and... statements that everything else will be told to me after the introductory period. So I'm accepting a job having no idea what they will eventually offer in terms of vacation days, etc. Wow, how annoying. Not that I won't find out sooner (like asking on Monday or something) but still...
