I just had to give some visible mojo on that -- I thought I was the only one who thought the stuff was vile.

For a while, I got to heating up some milk, adding a splash of vanilla and a couple of equal packets. I don't like the taste of milk, so needed the 'help' - but it's an oldie but a goodie.

Oh, and COOL WORK Madz! You didn't really say that to your mother about the burglar, though, did you?!

Must...resist.

If anyone's shopping for a TV, Fry's is selling a 52" Samsung 1080P LCD for $1300 with free shipping. We've been really happy with the Samsung we have, and CNET gives this one (well, it's the 46" version, but same product line) a good review. And $1300 is about $150 cheaper than anywhere else I can find it.

Just sayin'...

Me - We've got a lot of other stuff first, you won't die without a new computer.

Madz - But what if someone breaks in the house and asks me to look something up on the computer and it takes to long to boot and they kill me. Then I would die.

Great guilt trip, Madz!

I don't think I could bring myself to make an actual big ticket purchase at Fry's. That never seems to go well.

Speaking of TVs, I bought the woot.com deal today. Sony Bravia 32". I don't have a big apartment, so this is the right size for me for now. Finally getting an HDTV! Yay!

I'm mostly with you on that. Although I did purchase Susan's Macbook there recently, but only because I was also purchasing a bigger drive and more RAM at the same time as was getting it there (and saving almost $200 AND getting a bigger HD than if I had purchased the same upgrades through the Apple store).

But I probably wouldn't buy a TV from them.

I'm curious what the bad experiences have been at Fry's. Any interesting stories?

I've never made a purchase of any kind from them, but the Fry's in Fremont was one of my accounts when I was working for Nintendo. I was amazed at how much stuff they sell. And that big, weird, cafeteria-looking restaurant in the middle of the place! My coworker said the Fry's food is good and they have a porn section.
