I've now moved on to other tapes of miscellaneous stuff. There are still 18 more to capture.

I'm sure you've got all the equipment you need, but on the off chance that this might help, have you seen today's woot?

Oh, I know. Could come in handy, but the problem is that it won't do time code, and that's essential for what I do. I've had my hopes up for a fire store for a LONG time now. The pro ones are around $1,400 though. So, it'll have to wait for now.

Just got to Loo-uh-vull, KY. It's a tad humid! The hotel gave us a gift upon check-in: a horse blanket! We're going to use it to mop up our perspiration I guess...

I hate it when the KY gets sticky.

Good thing you got that horse blanket.

Kentucky is so pretty, it almost makes up for the humidity. First off, the state is pretty much Beagle Central. Also, if you can stay at Harmony Hill, an old Shaker village, you will absolutely love it. Perfect location for a destination wedding, btw.

Was there a reason for the horse blanket (other than mopping up perspiration)? That just seems so random.

Home of the Kentucky Derby, dude. They have to do something with all that horsehair.

So the set for "Singin' in the Rain" came in on 5 semi-trucks. I see why. We hung huge heavy things on the flyrail. We put the rest of the heavy crap onto platforms. There's a rain deck to catch the rain. It's not light either, and the backdrop for it is a series of buildings, like a town. They're all 15 feet tall and don't break down.

I'm thinking I want to see the show just to see this stuff all do its thing. It's a three day load-in, and our first two days have been 10 hours long. Oh, and everything's warped and tweaked so nothing fits to fasten it together. It's been ... interesting. Yeah, that's a good word. :)

Here's hoping tomorrow is a short day so I can go to the cemetary screening.
