Tonight is stormy weather food - chili and corn bread.

That sounds delish! You don't cook the noodles first and it still works, fascinating! I don't use manicotti shells anymore because they were always such a pain to stuff and not tear.

I figured it worked with lasagne noodles so why not try it out - and they are waaaay easier to stuff that way. It's hard to know exactly how much water to put though so I just sort of eyeball it. The bonus is that the noodles aren't really overcooked from getting cooked twice when the dish is done.

I'm going to have to try that, thanks!

I am so tired of eating out. I can't wait to get home and cook again. (And no, I have not hit my head on anything.)

I followed a no-cook lasagna recipe the other day, and it didn't even call for any extra water - so I'm thinking that might work for manicotti tubes, too!

I agree, it's SOOO much easier to stuff them when you don't boil them first!

Wolfette has requested Chicken Fettuncini Alfredo, so that's what I'll make.

I had an awesome pepperoni calzone tonight.

alphabassettgrrl 02-16-2009 10:00 PM

We had turkey slices with orange sauce, and sweet potatoes with cream cheese.

cirquelover 02-16-2009 10:29 PM

We had an artery busting chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and gravy. I threw in a salad just so we wouldn't keel over.

Yummy!
