I went to the Scandinavian festival yesterday and had Biff paj, rossettes and abelskivers( spelling may be way off) so I guess I'm right there with him. I even stopped for fresh peaches on the way home. It was a delicious day!

He needs to make aebleskivers. Heck, I'm not Swedish and I've made them (granted, I am currently in possession of my Grandmother's decades-seasoned pan).Attachment 1710

I'm a purist, but mainly because I was spoiled growing up by having great æbelskivers from a new defunct restaurant in Solvang (the ones you can get now are good but not great) and my Grandmother. It was actually an honor to make them for friends a couple of years ago (my first effort).

We had some for breakfast and a funnel cake while we waited in line. It was fun watching all the ladies lined up making abelskivers while you waited too. This year they only had strawberry or raspberry/blueberry jam with them.

While I love it when my hubby waits up for me when I get home late, the instant (or nearly so) request of "are you ready for bed yet?" is not particularly relaxing. So...

No. I'm not.

So... I'm flying to Indianapolis tonight for Gen Con. It will be a combination of having a ton of fun and working my frelling ASS off as volunteer for True Dungeon.

See y'all on the 20th.

Fragging cool! Remember, you can sleep when you're dead. Have a great trip.

I'm so immature. The news just said, in their little summary of stories coming up, that

Mitt Romney tapped Paul Ryan...

... as his running mate.

And I giggled about it.
