Don't know if this has been floating around for a while, but I like a couple of these.

No AC for us in any other windows except the office. I can't even get a portable one as there is no place to vent it.

I went to Costco looking for one the other day but sadly, nothing is going to work. Plus, I just came out of the store feeling icky - but thin. Do you THINK there is a connection between weighing 500 pounds and buying super-sized boxes of taquitos and giant bags of malted milk balls?

On another note: I made a pretty good vegetarian dinner last night. It contained, sauteed onions and garlic, about 12 heirloom tomatoes, white beans, 2 bunches of fresh basil and a jar of pitted Kalamata olives topped with a bit of shredded parm. I was surprised just how wonderful it was.

This sounds very much like Pasta Puttanesca (minus the anchoives, red chilli flakes and capers). Of course, I do not put beans in Puttanesca, either.

What I am trying to say is, NA, what you made sounds utterly delicious.

But, isn't it nice to feel so lithe and thin?

Snowflake: got any other good uses for capers? I have a small jar of them. Trying to think of ways to use them beyond wine sauces for fish.

It is kind of low rent but beyond cooking with fish and putting on salads, I also include capers in tuna salad and egg salad.

Morrigoon 08-19-2008 03:03 PM

Sounds yum!

Those are cool... thanks for sharing. (And no, I hadn't seen them.)

Something like this wouldn't work? Couldn't you run the vent out a window?

Chicken picata, or any basic lemony chicken dish.
