On stage, the term "pulling focus" is used interchangeably with "upstaging." As in, "When I described this scene as a gay romp, I didn't mean for you two sailors in the back to start making out! You're pulling focus! Now, knock it off, or I'll have to cut you from this scene and put you in the Olde English winter medley: Snowballs and Tea Bags."

Walking him this morning, a neighbor waved and called out she wanted to show us her new calico cat. "Jack likes cats, doesn't he?"

Well, now. Depends on the definition of likes. He tolerates cats, especially those with claws intact. He would like to kill them.

I was thinking along the lines of "He likes cats... with a nice chianti."

Yes, he likes to hunt cats - he is a hound dog after all!

I don't know if anyone's mentioned this, but thanks to all the back-to-school college dorm decorating frenzy, etc., Target has some GREAT deals on decent looking bookcases. Cheaper than Big Lots and better looking!

painting sucks- painting ceilings even more so

Walking the dogs this morning... got stalked by a local coyote. It didn't seem scared by my loud noises or gesticulation. It just stared at me and presumably at the yummy morsels at the other end of the leashes. I gathered up my dogs and stood on a neighbor's porch for a few minutes until the coyote decided to lope off... turning around every few paces to see if the chihuahua snacks were coming into his territory.

Perhaps on a related note... no sign of Carrot the bunny for several days...

Ugh. Can I please neuter Carrot's owners? :mad:
