Yeah, I know, it's just that this particular instance seemed more jarring and clumsily written then previous iterations of this tactic.

Claire is dead, the island moves (how that would prevent the baddies from "torching the island" I have no idea), Locke drew the smoke monster as a kid. Awesome.
I wonder if this is why only 6 make it off the Island. Maybe Jack, Kate, Sun and Aaron along with Hurley go with Sayid on the Zodiac back to the freighter but when Sayid tries to go back for a second run the Island is gone:confused:

BTW, anyone else notice that Locke asked "how do I save the island", not "how do I save everyone's lives"?
Now that you mention it it does seem like Locke would probably sacrifice everyone on the Island if the "Island" wanted him too:eek:

You go, Sun! She grew balls!!!

cirquelover 05-15-2008 11:53 PM

I was so proud of her too!

Why did I know Jack and Claire were brother and sister, had we discussed that here or was that a dream?

It's so nice to see Sayid happy, even if we know it won't last long!

Well, two more weeks and our questions are supposed to be answered, yeah right ;-)

All I can say is that must have been one hell of a settlement from Oceanic!

Pirate Bill 05-16-2008 08:27 AM

Well, some loose ends did get tied up nicely.

It's confirmed that Aaron is the 6th member of the Oceanic 6. I like that there was at least one reporter questioning the logic of Aaron being Kate's son.

Now we know that Jack does learn Claire is his sister, how he found out, and from whom.

It's also more clear about what that thing was under Keamy's arm. I suspected it was a dead man switch that would trigger some explosives somewhere. Seeing all the explosives on the boat that are hooked up to a transmitter brings that thread more to light.

We know that Jin is not one of the "8 survivors." We don't know who the other 2 are but we at least know one who is not.

Of course, there are still many many unanswered questions and a few new ones. This is not a complaint though. I actually like that about Lost. If I didn't, I wouldn't be watching.

BarTopDancer 05-16-2008 08:35 AM

Awesome.

Go SUN! I loved her standing up to her dad.

I think we now know what happened to Jin :(

If there is an explosion, maybe that is what causes a rift and allows the island to be seen.

And wow. Where did all those "Others" come from? It looks like it's going to be a fight for the island - between the bad guys and the "Others".

Just how big of a settlement did the O-6 get? I mean, I would expect that they would get enough to live the rest of their lives in a very comfortable style; 3 million, maybe a little more. But Sun bought controlling interest in a company that seems to me to be worth tens(if not scores) of millions of dollars....maybe I overestimated just how rich and powerfull Paik was.

More questions:

1) Seems like the Island or something healed Claire's mom. Come to think of it Kate's mom was supposed to be dead according to her doctors but somehow she also still lives. Juliet's sister also enjoyed a similar recovery. Are there any other cases like this?

2) Tunnels: For the last couple of seasons there has been lots of speculation about a tunnel system on the Island......I am thinking that if there was Ben most certainly would have used it to get to the Orchid.

3) A giant greenhouse.....another rung on my 'their moving the Island someplace cold' theory?

4) So according to their news confo, they are saying they crashed in the Indian Ocean.....but when Jack testified at Kates trial did he not say they crashed in the Pacific?

Regardless, how do they explain that the plane crashed so completely far off course....I mean, that's darn near the opposite direction they should have been flying?????

I think the actual crash did take place way off course. If memory serves, the pilots in the first episode were suddenly aware that they were nowhere they were supposed to be, just before the crash. Can't recall if they sent some sort of distress message, but if they did so, and it was received, the faked crash would need to stay in line... ?

I'm wondering if the island move is a move through time and space.

And I love that there is a nice new modern ship full of explosives to compliment that nice old ship full of Dynomite.

.

It did crash off course but not that far off course. They were flying on course for 6 hours(about 3 thousand miles) when they lost radio contact and turned west to attempt emergency landing at Fiji. 2 hours(1 thousand miles) later they crashed.

In order for them to have crashed where they reported that they did, they would have had to been of course(and flying about 110(maybe 108) degrees in the wrong direction right from the moment they took off from Sydney.

Quote:

PILOT: (panting) Six hours in, our radio went out. No one could see us. We
turned back to land in Fiji. By the time we hit turbulence, we were a thousand
miles off course. They're looking for us in the wrong place.

Looking at a world map(Pacific Centered) it's easy to see how ridiculously off their flight was.......on a smaller scale it would be like a Flight from San Diego to New York crashing in Alaska.

On a side note I just thought of a way Sun could have done it a little bit easier......maybe Sayid, Hurley, Jack, and Kate helped Sun by investing some or most of their settlements.

After all, right before Sun walked in on her father her father was screaming at his minions ...some about 5 seperate bank accounts:eek:
