Wow. My morning radio drive guys were talking about this today. Apparently there is quite the uproar about this. For years Clay fans have been staunchly defending him from "the haters" who called him gay. Now that he is out there is devastation in the ranks. A few are still in denial. Rather sad really and on so many levels.

I was thinking colder weather, but sure we can go with the end of all life in the universe as a backup.

Hey! Remember the woman I danced with at the show and ended up going out with? Well, things are going great. We've been dating since then and enjoying each other's company. I've stretched my comfort zone and have learned a lot. This may turn into something. But...

Tired of the winters in Portland, she's taken a job in Puerto Vallarta. She's moving to Mexico tomorrow til May. And I was just starting to get good at this!

On the plus side, she says this gives me a place to go for a real vacation.

Damn! Now I have to get a passport!

In other news...

At long last, I'm moving out of food service at the zoo. An opportunity has arisen to work with the Events Coordinator, helping to plan, organize and run everything from weekend events like the upcoming World Animal Festival to ZooLights and the Summer Concert Series.

I'm very excited! It's entertainment, and a lot of stage management. Most of all, it's a chance to grow, and to have a real impact on the visitor's experience.

I feel like I've come home.
