Nice, Swanie. Recognition is always a good thing.

Yeah Swanie!

That is awesome Swanie, it's always nicer when it comes 'unexpected' and the gift your giving is from the heart and not the potential for recongition!

Thank you all.

I'm such a dork...I can't believe how much I'm digging this little pat on the back. Part of me says it is just a piece of paper and a photo op, but KatieSue reminded me "but it is YOUR piece of paper and photo op." That's me...I'm only in it for the glory. ;)

And for once, I'm cool in my kids' eyes. T was looking over my shoulder while I read the letter and she gave a big, "Wow! Mom! You rock!"

I'll take what I can get at this point. :)

So after a frustrating day at work (well, just the last part of the day), I'm walking the dogs on my block when I run into my neighbor Sean. I think I've been avoiding talking to him since 8/27, because I was frustrated that he hadn't rescued the escaped pet bunny that was living in his backyard. On that day, I posted that I saw a coyote on our block - I was pretty sure that little Carrot had become a meal. Well, Sean sees me hustling the dogs past his house and stops me to tell me... he rescued the bunny! Carrot has been living in his house for over a month. Sean had also seen the coyote and made a concerted effort to capture the rabbit. I'm chagrined that I jumped to a conclusion about my (cool) neighbor. I'm delighted that little Carrot has found a happy home.

Awww.

Speaking of bunnies, I just got Night of the Lepus from my Netflix queue. I had seen it on TV decades go, but wow, it's far more ridiculous than I had remembered. This is one of the all time "what were they thinking?" movies.

(For those who've missed it - it's giant mutant rabbits on the rampage - but the special effects consist of actual adorable nose-twitching bunnies scampering in slow motion across miniature sets. Apparently unintentional hilarity ensues.)
